WELCOME TO J-PROGS

J-PROGS is the name for the publishing arm of Julian Morgan's books and software. Many of these were written to support the learning of Latin, Greek and classical subjects, though there are also books here about Charles Dickens, James Herriot and Yorkshire. Please note that some links here will take you to our other websites at www.yorkshireauthor.com and www.imperiumlatin.com.

Julian is a member of the O Tempora! crossword setting team for The Times newspaper and the puzzle master for ARGO magazine. He has been a Classics teacher for many years and although his classroom teaching days are behind him now, he is still happy to give talks or provide private tuition in a variety of subjects on request.

A feature about Julian's work appeared in the Yorkshire Post in February 2019 which you can read by clicking on this link. You can also read a recent article from the Old Pocklingtonians on Julian here and see Julian's Interview on #comfortclassics here.

Classical Collection

Our materials have been popular for many years in schools and universities in the UK, the USA and many other countries. Our books include a range of puzzle books for Classical Civilisation, Roman Britain, Latin and Greek. There is also a rather special puzzle book QUARE ID FACIAM, entirely written in Latin.

In addition to the puzzle books, our classical collection also includes Sonnets for Classical Stars, Three tragedies... No tears and Plays in Two Days.

For those who prefer their page-turning to be done on screens, we have a growing store of interactive books amongst our classical materials. We still publish some legacy software from the old days, Aeneas 4 and The Horace Trail.

Charles Dickens, James Herriot and a bit of Nostalgia

We publish two literary-themed puzzle books, being Charles Dickens Puzzles and World of James Herriot Puzzles and also a book of Nostalgia Puzzles.

Yorkshire themed books

Our collection includes three books of Yorkshire Puzzles as well as our City of York Puzzles and Sonnets for Yorkshire Stars.

Imperium Latin course

The Imperium Latin Course is used around the world and is a very good way to learn a lot of Latin quickly.

Please note that if you are buying 5 or more books at the same time I should be able to do you an advantageous deal on prices, so please email me to discuss your needs.

Free Resources

In addition to the resources posted here, please note that there are also some free of charge resources available on our page at TES Resources. These include full, original translations of Antigone, Oedipus the King, Medea and The Bacchae, as well as the three books of the Imperium Latin Course. If you are using these, please think about buying some apps, an interactive version of a book or a Site Support Pack to enhance the experience for yourself or your students and by so doing, help to guarantee the future of free downloads from J-PROGS.
