Starting in 273BC, the simulation follows the wars that lead to the triumph of Rome. Early confrontations and victories over the powerful states of Carthage and Macedonia eventually involve Rome in the great Eastern wars against the Asiatic kingdoms. Just over the horizon mighty barbarian nations like the Gauls and Germans threaten to breach the empire's defenses. Husband your manpower and money for the day when these barbarians swarm over the borders and into the heart of the empire.
